The Ace Of Spades
You win some, lose
some, all the same to me,
The pleasure is to
play, makes no difference what you say,
I don't share your
greed, the only card I need is
The Ace Of Spades
I've written so much about the differences between France
and Croatia so far, now it's time for some similarities.
Gambling is the first one. No shock there, people all over
the world are chasing the easy money. Especially in a difficult times like these.
But still, I thought that gambling would be a bigger issue
in the developing countries. I was wrong.
The only difference is that in Eastern Europe people are
betting more on sports and play the slot machines, and here they bet on horses
and play all kinds of lottery games.
But their profile is the same. You can see it in the way
they talk, even in the way they look. If you know where to look.
To paraphrase Tolstoy: All the winners are winning in their
own way, all the losers are alike...
The other thing is astrology. And all the tarot and future
telling bullshit.
Sweet Jesus, how's this still going on? I mean, WTF!?
And here there are absolutely no differences. All the naïve
people are naïve in the same way, no matter where in the world?
Sure, they'll tell you that you're gonna get back with your
ex. Or find the love of your life soon enough. That you'll gonna get promotion,
or a better job. That you'll gonna win the lottery. They even tell you what and
when to play.
They'll tell you everything you want to hear. All you have
to do is send them some money. And then some more. And more, and more. Because
if nothing they told you don't work, that because someone is using black magic
or some other voodoo nonsense against you. And you have to send them just a
little bit more money to protect you.
People, use your head for heaven's sake! Or don't, use a
peace of paper. And a calculator. It's the basics, two columns: gains and
losses. And the result is?
The ace of spades?
